The Goddess of Life needs a garden, and we have to give it back
Creatures smaller than tiniest sand
give birth to all that breathes
Creatures with wisdom beyond their knowing
A wisdom that said “Go ahead. Fill the oceans”
More makes more and plenty makes plenty
Then on to creatures with swords and songs
Here we are now, alive and listening
Where can life go when it’s fallen so far
Back to the oceans, safe from the sun?
Or under glass domes like shells on the sand?
Maybe we humans can fix this
Maybe? But quickly!
Maybe we can
First we must learn to respect the land
Feed it and thank it, and seed it with water
Turn it all back, if we can, to nature
Life will know what to do
Make the land sacred if we must
from deepest ground to the air above
Keep it free from greed’s knife touch
The goddess of life needs a garden
